Downtown Photo Walk

It’s been a busy week for me as I worked full time hours rather than part time.  That kind of cut into my photography and creative things that I really like to do.  But last night I did go on a photo walk with a group in downtown Lima.  Here are some of my favorite images from that experience.

I stood at the corner of this bank building and looked up.
By squaring the edge of the building with the edge of the frame I got an interesting perspective.
Why are those two squares lighter in color?
We were encouraged to look for reflections while on our walk. Standing on the top level of the parking garage, I looked at the evening sun reflected in a few windows.  Originally I had cropped this image a lot, but decided to leave it in its original dimensions.
Seems to be a blue and gold theme going on in these.
Have a great weekend!

Please take a seat…

Last Thursday evening I participated in another photo walk in our downtown area, along with many other people, young and old, from our community.  A highlight of the evening was being allowed to enter and explore the old Veterans Memorial Hall, and take as many photos as we wanted.   I was fascinated by the balcony area of the old auditorium, and all the old wooden fold up seats.

See the empty wine bottle at the bottom of the image, in the middle? I did not see it until I uploaded this photo on my computer.  Now I wonder who had been there. After all, this building is closed up most of the time.

Placing my camera on the slanted banister allowed me to get this perspective.

Great seats, if you had the tickets for the show…  Love the old wood floor. Dust and all.

A chorus line, arms joined, all the movements synchronized…

My favorite from the entire day.  I think of those “feet” all pointed and lined up perfectly, in a lovely dance.

At the Park

See that bench on the far right? We sat there together this evening to eat our supper.
Then we just took a leisurely walk around the pond.
There were other families enjoying the spring weather, too.
The grass is lush and thick, speckled with dandelions and violets.
There were fish in the pond, too, making their presence known with
an occasional splash or ripple.
It was just as peaceful and serene as this photo portrays.
How have you enjoyed this day?
(All these were taken with my Canon 18-55mm lens.)
