Frost with a golden touch

Just one of the reasons I love this time of year.
What a privilege to witness this,
the gentle touch of frost on a humble, dried up flower.
And a bit of sun giving it an edge of coppery gold.

  1. Wow! Shooting scenes like this are such a challenge – to capture all the glittery and sparkling wonder of snow and frost. But you succeeded mightily with this shot – the copper gilding around the edges is the icing on the cake. Beautifully stunning! Love your use of negative space to highlight the plant.

  2. I am right there with you – the beauty this time of year astounds me! Really love this – and your dazzling queen anne's lace too! Have been nursing a nasty cold – but can't wait to get outside with my real (read not iPhone) camera and walk through the frosty landscape!!

  3. Breathtakingly beautiful! I just can't take my eyes off of it. That coppery-golden light, and those frosted petals, astounding! And, I must say, as the rain comes down here in Toronto, it's a gift to see your capture of Winter's beauty.

  4. Very pretty shot. I have a hard time forcing myself to get out on these cold days to take pictures so kuddos to you for a wonderful job well done.
