If you are looking for a good book to read, I have one to recommend.
Check out “The Lotus Eaters” by Tatjana Soli. I checked in out from our local library and just about could not put it down. The story is based in Vietnam during the war, and the main character is a woman photographer. The link I shared above takes you to the author’s website where you can read more about her book and other writing that she has done.
The image I’m sharing here was actually taken with my smart phone, and, no, this is not my holiday decor. (My house is not yet filled with holiday decor…the older I get the longer I put it off!) This view is in the main lobby (former living room) of the office where I work. The owner of our company and his wife have always done a very nice job of decorating the place this time of year. My photo prompt was “in a tree”, meaning anything in any tree. Since the weather outside was frightful (kind of like that song says…) I chose to get this image of the Christmas tree at work.
Actually I can’t even blame the weather. Before work I grocery shopped, after work I cleaned house, and then that book called out to me and made me sit on the couch until I was finished.
A woman’s gotta do what a woman’s gotta do…
I've read that book, and agree that it was very compelling. I'd say you were doing well to get the grocery shopping and house cleaning done in the midst of it!
Lovely holiday scene – I like those big red and gold balls. Thanks for the book recommendation – it's on my library request list.
Beautiful image! I love all the light reflections in the balls on the tree; they look like jewels! I'll have to check out this book, thanks for the recommendation!
