Holiday Lights and Birthday Songs

Holiday lights

I’d much prefer snow this time of year to rain, but the puddles do make for some lovely reflections of holiday lights in my neighborhood.  Click on my Flickr badge to the right of this post to see my other holiday images, along with my 365 Project.

We’re enjoying a quiet evening on this, my 58th birthday.  We have had a birthday phone call – video chat actually – with the grandson, who wanted to sing happy birthday but became suddenly shy.  And there have been other phone calls, Facebook messages, and texts from friends and family, all adding to the festivities.  Tomorrow there will be some shopping involving Vera Bradley handbags.

I leave you with this photo of the grandson (with mommy) giving us his silly grin during our video chat.  In the lower right corner you can see Mark, holding the “orange kitty” and me snapping a photo.

Have I told you that the grandson calls me Grandma Friday?  I’m lovin’ it!

What an awesome picture of the lights in the puddles, you have inspired me to try this. Will keep my eyes open for this chance, it's sprinkling right now again. Wishing we get some snow soon or at least on Chrismtas.

  3. Happy Birthday Deborah. Lovely photos. And such a precious little grandson you have. Isn't it wonderful how technology allows us to be able to Skype and see one another even at a distance. Love the 'Grandma Friday' that your grandson has nicknamed you. 🙂

  4. Happy, happy birthday to you! Wishing you a year filled with creativity and joy. Gorgeous holiday reflections. And we so love Skyping with our grandson too.
