This is Rock House at Hocking Hills.
The colors and textures of the stone are incredible.
Looking out and beyond the cliffs gives this awesome view of the trees.
Taking photos inside a cave or a house made of rock was a first for me. I used my tripod since it was pretty dark and I knew the exposures would be long and wanting to avoid camera shake. For these shots I used the 18-55mm lens that came with my camera. This allowed me to zoom out for a wider angle when needed. I did a lot of post processing with Lightroom so that the dark walls wouldn’t be quite so dark, nor would the trees in this last image be so bright. Overall, I’m pleased with the results.
I think it’s time for more tea….
Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful shots of the cave. The colours are incredible. I recently went to a cave with my husband and son and I was not able to take good photos inside it was so dark.
I've been meaning to tell you that I love your pumpkin banner. Very appropriate for October. 🙂
Suzanne,
This place was a more open kind of cave and there were several openings where the light of day came in. That really helped as far as taking photos. Even so, it was dark enough that it presented some challenges.
Glad you like the pumpkin!
What an awesome looking place this is! Would love to visit there
It is a beautiful place!
I adore these photos! The colours. The textures. The lines. Absolutely gorgeous. And, me, too – I love, love your pumpkin banner!
Thanks, Juli! I really enjoyed that cave. And this pumpkin was so unusual I just had to get a close up of that texture on it. Thanks for your comment!
Those photos are really amazing, what a fabulous place. Also, I'm very impressed with your pumpkin banner! x
Thanks! I appreciate your comments.

Those are beautiful photos. You did a very nice job!! Would love to visit there some day. 🙂
Wonderful shots of these beautiful rock formations — the colors are amazing! Now I want to come see them in person! Well done, Deb!
Your last image is a stunner, wonderfully processed to showcase the beauty.
You captured the rock formations and colors so beautifully!!
A challenging environment in which to shoot – with such a wide dynamic range of light. Beautifully done. Intriguing shots, capturing the sinuous shapes and lovely textures.
