old tree

Thanks to all of you who visit here so regularly and share your kind remarks! I truly enjoy reading all of them and participating in this with you.

Tomorrow I am going on a field trip with friends from our local photography club, and I am so excited! There will be photos and stories to share when I return.

Meanwhile, doesn’t this old tree trunk look like a face? I have edited the image using Lightroom and have increased the intensity of the colors just a bit. This really brought out even more of the texture…and I love the results.  (Bonnie…I’d love to see how you would paint this.)

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Have a great time on your photo excursion! Looking forward to the results. And today, you continue with your anthropomorphizing streak (to attribute or ascribe human form or behaviour to an object). Fun isn't it?

  2. Great minds! As soon as I saw it, I knew I "wood" have to paint it! I'm thinking' watercolor with ink enhancements… Sounds like a good weekend project… Will post on FB when done…
    VERY inspirational!

  3. This just brought the biggest smile to my face this morning and I said "hoot!" Let me explain why I'm hooting at your beautiful image!! My two yr old grandson and I love to watch a movie called "Stranger in the Woods." It is about a snowman that is built in the woods and is a stranger to the animals. It's a beautiful little film with videos and images of real animals, it's main character a deer! Of course the animals and snowdrifts talk! There is a tree that says "hoot." Now, everytime Aaron and I see a tree with a hole in it, we both say "hoot" and giggle! I hope you have a wonderful day with your photo group! I can't wait to see you pictures and hear about it!
