Sharing a Soul Talk

Blogging is such an interesting adventure.

I began this one last fall when it occurred to me that I had words and art and photos that I wanted to share.  I have to admit that when I post my “stuff” here I feel like my cat looks when he rolls over and shows me his soft underbelly — I feel vulnerable.  But I also feel excited that I have this way, this technology, and the ability to share what is going on inside me, to share the bits and pieces of my life.

It is so easy to get caught up in the numbers game with blogging; the number of followers, the number of visits captured by the stats, and the number of comments.  This can really suck you in and make you think that those little numbers have everything to do with who you are and what your blog is about.  But today, thanks to the courage of two women I have never met in person but have befriended due to blogging, I have heard a message that really puts it all in proper perspective.

Alia and Julia have started recording conversations that they have via Skype, calling them Soul Talks.  The second one was just posted today on Inner Bliss and you can click here to go to that site and listen to what they have to say. Take the time to sit for 30 minutes and just listen to their conversation.  If you are also a blogger it is worth every minute.

What I share are moments of inspiration in my life, stuff that comes from my heart, some of it more inspired than other stuff.  I’m still learning as I go about all this. I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to read what is here, whether I hear from you or not.

I sincerely hope that you are having a beautiful day!

Deb

  1. what a great sentiment and well said. I had another blog that I "let die" from awhile ago and started a new one for the same reasons you mentioned–feeling like I had to perform because of the amount of readers I had and felt very vulnerable.

I started a new one very recently and really don't look or an concerned with how many people read it because it's more of an "online diary" for myself now and I'm enjoying it more.

    Wonderful, thought provoking post!

  2. Oh! I love you, Deb.

p.s. I will listen to the Soul Talk later when kids are in bed. Have a wonderful week.

  5. I am also enjoying your lovely blog! I have connected with some terrific people via blogging, and remind myself it's quality, not quantity of blogging friends that is important.
