Double take

For Picture Inspiration we were challenged to make a collage
that shows a subject from two different points of view.  These little
plates were a gift from a dear friend, dessert plates that had been
used by her mother. I love the ivy design that you see on the left, but
I really love the gold leaf on the edges as you see on the right.
It’s worn in places, telling the story that these were lovingly used many times.
As these sit on my kitchen table
the evening sun came in and touched them with it’s own kind of gold.
It’s all about perspective, about moving around and looking at your subject
in another way.

  1. These plates are pretty and I love both angles of them. When the sun shines thru our window at a certain time my kitchen just glows and feels so warm and cozy.

  2. Isn't it wonderful how the evening sun makes things glow with a special golden light? Works especially well for people portraits too! I have a small set of dessert plates that have a similiar worn gold edge — so lovely.

Beautiful & so so true, Deb.

    Sending love your way today,

    Julia
